SSP1-VLLO-UPTAKE Scenario · Cooperative world

Long Road

Early, sustained mitigation with the smallest reliance on late-century removals.

The story

Long Road is the cooperative-world pathway: long-term, sustainable, and low-CDR. The world acts early and keeps at it, so emissions fall steadily rather than being rescued by a late technological surge. Carbon removal is front-loaded into land-based methods and stays comparatively modest.

It maps to ScenarioMIP SSP1-VLLO (very low emissions, low overshoot). Of the three roads it demands the least end-of-century removal — the reward for not overshooting.
